I have always enjoyed programming, particularly the process of analyzing problems and designing effective solutions. Problem-solving challenges, such as those found on Codewars, are a natural fit for the way I think and work.
Before transitioning into full-time web development, I spent 10 years as a senior support and escalation engineer at Belgium’s largest hosting company, where I worked closely with complex production environments and customer-critical systems. This experience gave me a strong foundation in troubleshooting, system reliability, and communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
As the web development landscape continues to evolve at a rapid pace, I became increasingly drawn to the productivity and flexibility of modern web technologies. The ability to build applications that run on any device with a browser strongly appealed to me, and I decided to deepen my expertise in this field by completing two full-stack JavaScript bootcamps on Udemy.
While these bootcamps provided a solid technical foundation, I felt the need for more hands-on experience and structured feedback. This led me to complete the Techdegree program at Team Treehouse, which covers both frontend and backend JavaScript, including React. The program resulted in ten completed projects that demonstrate my skills, some of which are showcased on this site.
I gained my first professional experience as a full-stack developer at Webship, where I was responsible for integrating the Shopify API. Following this role, I expanded my frontend skill set with a deep dive into CSS, an area that was not extensively covered in my initial training. I now primarily use Tailwind CSS, which allows me to efficiently create responsive, mobile-friendly designs.
Since July 2023, I have been working as a full-stack engineer at Kairon Labs, contributing to the development of an internal crypto-currency trading platform, built with React.
